Many times when we think of beautiful locations we think of buying a plane ticket and visiting an exotic location. What we tend to not consider is that beauty is sometimes in our backyard (well no literally).
As an example I bring forth exhibit A on this blog, La cueva del Indio in Arecibo, Puerto Rico. In my case an hour and half trip resulted in a set of images I really loved, may make prints of these available so stay tuned.
The point of this post is to basically showcase that many times beauty is within reach, no plane ticked or passport required. As a photography instructor you would not believe how many of my students hold back ideas or inspiration because they’re waiting for that exotic location to try out their new gear, skills or whatever.
Don’t wait, explore your home, explore your street, explore your neighborhood, don’t wait. Create now.
For the camera geeks out there the images where made with a D300s, RAW files edited in Adobe Lightroom. If you have any questions feel free to leave a comment.
After two years of absence Ricardo Arjona returns to Puerto Rico. The artist announced a set of performances this upcoming October vía a creative press conference/mini concert.
Here are a few images documenting the evening.
Spanish singer Ana Torroja has been touring heavily these months promoting her most recent greatest hits albulm “Conexion”.
Returning to Puerto Rico after 14 years Torroja performed in the Bellas Artes theatre in Santurce. Playing most of her hits to an almost capacity crowd,Torroja showed off her vocal range while moving through the stage and intercacting with the energetic crowd.
Here’s some pics of her presentation for more info visit solborincano.com for more images and content.
Continuing this portrait series here’s one of Ivan Calderon. He’s definetly a future hall of fame boxer and one of the best defensive fighters to come out of Puerto Rico.
This image for me is touching since it was taken during his first loss. Facing a younger, bigger and hungrier opponent all the while Calderon was entering the final stages of his career. He would retire a few fight later.
Vico C is one of the founding voices of the Rap movement in Puerto Rico. Known for always including social content lyrics to his music nowadays he is a rare breed of musician in this genre.
Still going strong since beginning his career in the eighties Vico C sticks true to his message but still willing to modify his style without diluting it in the process.
While shooting this ser Inwanted to capture his intensity and passionate delivery. Here in this post I’ll include a couple of my favorite shots from this concert.
